Seasonal Reminders
Early spring is the ideal time for pruning bushes and trees to improve shape and health of your plants.
Important steps to enhance and improve the health of a grass lawn include periodic thatching, mowing once a week during heavy growth season. Lawns also need to be trimmed at the edges on a regular basis.
Although irrigation is not required, it is recommended for your yard (grass, flowers, bushes and trees).
Homeowners must remove dead plants.
It is also your responsibility to regularly remove weeds in your front yards. Weeds typically spread through the air. If you grow a weed patch, your neighbors will soon get your weed varieties. Weeding is essential not only for good yard care, but also so we can protect each other from invasive plants. The most effective way to weed is muscle. Pull them out!
All residents with grass should get ready for the spring growing season. Usually by April or May the warmer temperatures and longer days can rapidly accelerate the growth rate of grass. In the springtime, mowing once per week is preferred. Later in the season, mowing every two weeks is sufficient once the rate of growth slows down.
If you don’t have the time or equipment to mow, trim and weed, consider hiring a professional landscape service. There are many who operate in our community.
If you have an irrigation system, plan ahead to open up your systems in the spring and a back flow test is required. Also, remember that systems need to be shut down in the fall and winterized.
If you have questions about proper yard care, ask the HOA! Just send us a request for information.
